Why did she write her name on the chalkboard?

Published by under General News

This morning Y6 had a great start to the day by watching a spooky yet hypnotising video.

A young girl, called Alma, finds herself sucked into the body of a plastic doll.

Y6 have stretched their noticing muscle to think about Alma’s feeling inside and out- they used Thinglink to pin point her main feelings and think of questions she might be thinking?

Take a look at some of them below!

Wentworth Land Art

Published by under General News

Y6 have had a great Monday because they have been busy making a GIANT piece of land art for the Tour De France!

We have spent all morning searching for different materials in Wentworth gardens and it’s a good job they all worked as a team because without the collaboration we certainly wouldn’t have produced anything like the outstanding piece we made by 3pm!

The children were a credit to the school and even got treated to an ice lolly at the end of the day!

A perfect way to end such an amazing day!
Well done to all!

Gaming Enterprise & The PROM!!!

Published by under General News

What a day today has been! I think it might possibly be one of my favourite days yet at Worsbrough Common Primary!

This morning it started with an exciting gaming enterprise where the hall was turned into a gaming station! All year6 were ready with their games and adverts to try and persuade others at WCPS to play and review theirs! (Hoping for a 5star rating!)
It was a GREAT success and all Y6 received phenomenal feedback from their peers and are awaiting the results!

Not only have we had this excitement but it has been a special evening as it has been our PROM! It has been a truly amazing evening and at one point I think all the adults in the room had a tear in their eye!

I hope everyone enjoyed the evening and there will be pictures coming tomorrow! (Here a few sneaky ones!)

Look out the caves are about!! By Harry

Published by under General News

Look out the caves are about this is a fun adventure game with dangerous obstacles near by it is an almost impossible mission! It is based on a character inside a cave what is spooky and dangerous the objective is to save worms friend from dying.

A teenage boy, who is the main character in the game has bean Telly ported in to a start of a game surrounded by lava that is sculling hot which gives the game a light atmosphere to the game. The characters job is to find a hidden key before entering the second level. But if you don’t find the key then you won’t be able to go and continue the game of doom….

The games main highlights is the special lava effects. These can be found on all three level and create danger for the character because at some points it is really tricot not to fall in lava! The calm music makes you consontratr for the final level.

On occasions there are points where it is really difficult to do and this could frustrate some players. However if you persevere it is possible.

I really enjoyed playing this game: it has allot of exiting dangerous obosticals and levels that get easy and hard but have an element of surprise! However I would purchase this game it it amassing.

The Mineshaft- Josh

Published by under General News

The character is called Jack. He has to escape the crumbling Mineshaft before the lave rises. If he dosen’t then he will become a burnt miner.

Level 1                                                                                                                                                                                                       First you appear to be stuck in a deep hole, you can’t escape, the first challenge you come across is to avoid the ferocious lava bombs and collect the precious coins. To escape the hole you have to enter an ancient elevator and ascend to the next floor. The possessed lave suddenly dive down from above, you run across with ease. Too easy? Well your next challenge is extremely difficult. You have to run and run to the end. The roof starts to crumble and falls down. Will you survive? Yes! You see the bridge ahead of you fall and break, the only way to escape is to jump!

Gem review volcanorous by Courtney

Published by under General News

Volcanorous is a deadly game, bursting with life taking tasks! Based on a volcano theme, your character will be begging to go home! Risky levels to complete.

Appearing at the start of the game, a young boy, who is determined to safe the world, tiring to save his family, witch gives the game a dark atmospheric feel. To enter the incredible, second level I had to find the hidden key. (If the key is not found then you can’t move on to the next level). I really liked this task as it gave a challenge. It’s repeated through the three difficult levels.

The games main highlight is the lava effects. The alarming tense music adds to feel of the game. However, when persevering it is possible to reach the portals on every level.

I really enjoyed playing this game: it is filled with extraordinary levels not too easy but have an element of surprise! Although I would purchase this game and encourage others to play- if you dare.

Chomp,chomp,through the forest by Elizabeth

Published by under General News

Are you looking for the best game ever? Busting with excitement and adventures. If so, then chomp, chomp, through the forest is the best game for you, this game is based on a teenage theme, your character is stucked in a jungle; it needs your help to get out. Can you help her?

A young mysterious girl is stucked in the: chomp forest, she needs you to collect golden coins to help her survive. Climb ladders; collect keys and dash through the breaking blocks with incredible speed, jumping high you can get the supper coin, which increase your coins. It is the character job to to retrieve a hidden key before being able to enter the second level.(if the key is not found then the portal doors  at the end of the first level are locked).

on levels there are points where I found it difficult to reach the next occasions. However, you can collect power ups  to fly up high. The vast majority of coins help you unlock power ups. I really like this game cause when you hear the music it gives you more pressure. It is also filled with exciting dangerous  levels  that are not easy without persevering learning learning muscles to win.

this game is a really good game, help Angelina to win the treasure and get out of the forest therefore, I will encourage others to play – if they dare.

Mega willy by Kyle

Published by under General News

Beware mega willy is an exiting parkour game bursting with excitement and danger. You have three missions to complete and deafeat!

a young boy, who loves technical devices is the character and loves parkour. The outstanding atmosphere helps him get through quicker with skill and speed. You don’t only have to get through the level you have to find the key to succeed. The ladders and monkey bars have a few tricks if noticed.

the main effects are the lava strikes in level three and there  is also a trick but must be discovered by you. Some points are hard and some points are fairly easy but you just need the skill to complete it. I found level two a little hard then got used to it eventually.

I really enjoyed playing it: the danger features excited me the most. I hope all the global players enjoy it.

The Mineshaft – Harvey

Published by under General News

The Mineshaft is a incredible adventure game that gets more addictive the further you go. Based on Indiana Jones this superb game has many traps and hypnotising jumps. The Mineshaft is suitable for primary and secondary pupils.

Jack, who is the main character, appears to be stuck in a hole with fire balls flying towards him when he spawns, which gives a thrilling challenge. It is the characters job to collect the super coins and keys to reveal the second level. A block surrounded by spikes flys up and down waiting for you to jump on it. If the players feeling risky he/she can drop half way across the zip wire and has to jump straight away.

The games main highlight is the crusher. This can only be found on the first level and can be one best challenges in the game. The music adds a better feel to the game as it is tense. We have tested this game and it is possible.

I really enjoyed playing this thrilling game: it is a mind twisting exiting game. Therefor I would purchase this game and try to get people buying it.

Poppa baby mission in possible :Elizah

Published by under General News

Wonderful, fanciful, amazing the game that will blow your mind, Popp baby mission impossible . Poppa is a baby  who saves the world with his walker (baby walker) he is on a mission to save the world and he needs your help through L1 , L2 and L3.

Poppa is a baby: who saves the world. He is the main character in the game. First he appears at the start of the game like magic , which is really funny,  you need to go across the to get the shiny , shimmering key so you can get to the naxt level so no key no next level it is amazing if you are good it.

The game will be fun until you see the hot boiling lava it is a big challenge : even-though the the lava is purple it can still be hot and you will have to start all over again and some lava falls from the some  comes from under the moving block.

I really find it amusing and entertaining with the fun and risky levels to play the deadly game, if you dare!

Where’s Wally by Courtney

Published by under General News

Splat, squash, squelch- pink gunge, spotty gunge, yellow, purple gunge, flying to each dragon like a bullet aimed at it’s enemy. Strangely, the yellow and purple striped snake dragon’s gunge is the same as it’s body, camouflaged into it’s own. What will all the gunge do? Will it kill some one? What will happen?

Lights beaming from the dark blue, like demons out of his ears and nostrils, a lazier, trapped inside him! Light houses standing up tall like nothing is happening around them, sky scrapers ignoring the world. Men determined to win the fearless dragons (however they wanted to go home and wail in a corner).

Lights out by Brendan p

Published by under General News

Enraged,fuming,bad-tempered- as the furious beast lured the sailors back to this monstrous land, which smells like rotten flesh, began to grin and concentrate: on something else. Would anybody get out alive? Many of the monsters fly to avoid humans! Would the dragons leave? Would the humans leave? Who will rule the land?

Curiously, as man in the blue shorts stood carefully hiding from the walking sea monster he chaotically dived into the green gungy sea!

The monster invasion by Lucas

Published by under General News

Petrifying, terrifying, frightening  – the big fat dragons , where invading the light houses. Why were they doing this? Suddenly, the scaly spotty dragon, flew as fast as a lightning bolt flying down from the sky. The dragon is a torch lighting up the night sky.

The slimy, slithery snake was attacking the buildings : why were they doing this to us? The blue spotty dragon is reflecting light to another dragon and the light houses . The red and yellow spotty dragon is squirting gooey gunge at the petrifying peculiar sailors.

Fright of the night

Published by under General News

Strange, curious, mysterious-strangely a feather weighed more than a minute flat. The strange and blue spotted dragon quickly raged through the the decking like a beastly bullet shooting from a connon. If only they had more security, if only they took a stand, if only they had more weapons, then they wouldn’t be in such a gungey mess. As the smoke exited the pipe it was like cotton wool clouds. Evil and vicious, cold – blooded and dangerous, the dragons caused more danger moment by moment:second by second. More chaos grew bigger. Suddenly, BANG WALLOP one of the sailors heard a queer noise up from above. The gruesome dragons carried on…

Midnight Terror! By Brandon

The sailors are holding gunge gunners. Will the solders survive? Red the red Dino’s horns are like slices of bread stuck to his back.

Goowious George a spotty giant snake is squirting green gunge. The bridges are dancing in the midnight sky. Who will win the fight? Soldiers and monsters fighting for freedom: are dangerously pushing and shooting each over like they were in world war2. Monster frights! By Jack

Published by under General News

Quickly, the scaly spotty dragon squirted its goo, which looks like tomato soup, at the unexpected sailers. Slivering, hissing, squirting- the giant long stripy snake slivered down the rickety ladder: shooting its yellow and purple gunge. Suddenly the surprised sailer squirted his pink icing like a fire man putting out a fire.

The poor helpless sailers fell to the doom. Pink goop every where, who will win the battle?

Hilarious, amusing, humorous – the enraged dragon was too busy to see behind him, which the sailor took advantage and drawled on the dragon! Would he get his revenge? Would the sailor die? What would happen next? Unexpectedly, a gleaming, endless snake swooped down and attacked a chubby sailor: luring him in closer to his death. The dragons teeth are white  daggers.

The light bulbs danced playfully in the moonlight sky, curiously as the men stood in white shorts was brave as a lion,if only he has listened,if only he wasn’t in that place,if only he stayed at home then he wouldn’t be in this mess.

The monsters strike by Harvey

Published by under General News

Red, wreck less, clumsy – the red monster lifted the heavy wooden cage : with the men on it. Sailors marched hesitantly round the monster while the trembling light bulbs dashed round. The lake danced while a blue monster, which was an octopus, crashed into a boat. Jimmy , was drawing a red target on a green monster as quick as a cheater chasing its prey. The sky was a gloomy hovering ghost blowing out a candle.

Jack tryed to escape in his puny wooden boat. Will he escape? Why is he leaving his friends ? Where’s he going? Sailors were cramped together like beans in a bean tin. Pink glue squirted out of cannons, while bob pulled a long never ending rope. Wendy hid behind the saliors.

Below are some prompts about a persuasive advert- what to include and how to include it!
On the final page is a question we are going to be looking at in class… could you gather some ideas and bring them to class to share!
Get ahead of your learning!

Sticking with it…

Published by under General News

Today in Y6 we have been reviewing our learning!

We have been SPaG detectives and decided that we really needed to think of something to help us remember four important things!

What is a noun?
What is a verb?
What is an adverb?
What is an adjective?

For some reason we just can’t seem to remember the answers to these important questions!
We made some catchy comic strips to help us! Take a look 🙂
